We are pleased to announce that we have selected a group from the University of Florida to serve as the Spring 2018 GSSPC with a proposed symposium titled
"Finding Our Place at the Bottom: A Symposium in Memory of Richard Feynman".
The Graduate Student Symposium Planning Committee (GSSPC) is a group of graduate students responsible for the tasks associated with the planning of an American Chemical Society (ACS) National Meeting. This includes topic selection, fundraising, speaker recruitment, and logistical arrangements. The ACS Division of Chemical Education co-sponsors this event.
The Spring 2018 ACS Meeting and Exposition will be held in New Orleans, LA from March 18-22, 2018.
How to apply: Assemble a group of 4-6 graduate students with diverse backgrounds in research. Applications must include the following:
Completed applications can be sent to [email protected] and are due no later than November 11, 2016. The selected GSSPC will also receive $1000 to support travel expenses to the Spring 2017 ACS National Meeting in San Francisco.

- A resume (2 page limit) and biography (300 word limit) for each member of your group;
- A proposed topic for the Spring 2018 symposium (2-3 pages), including a list of potential speakers with a brief background for each speaker and a list of potential funding sources;
- A mission statement for your committee (1 page limit). This should describe your symposium topic, your goals for the symposium, your qualifications and your interest in becoming the Spring 2018 GSSPC.
